cloud architect works directly with some of Oracle’s large customers in

designing some of the most advanced cloud architectures running on Oracle

public cloud. The ideal cloud specialist will possess deep technical depth in

Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS) (or) Platform As A Service and will have

excellent interpersonal skills and a passion to solve customer’s business

problems. The candidate will be part of a rapid change culture that embraces

innovation and will use Oracle’s public cloud services to help customers embark

on the cloud journey by building highly scalable web & mobile applications,

porting existing applications to the cloud, architecting high performance

database cloud systems and help customers take real time decisions using big

data and other technologies.

As a member of the core sales team, the cloud architect will drive revenue

growth across a defined set of customers. As a trusted customer advocate he/she

will help organizations understand and implement best practices around advanced

cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

He/she will also have to proactively work with other Lines of Businesses within

Oracle and help position Oracle as the preferred platform of choice by speaking

at forums and other customer events.

Excellent technical capabilities –

o Experience in architecting Infrastructure solutions using both

Linux/Unix and Windows on Cloud with specific recommendations on server, load

balancing, Multi-region, HA/DR, & storage architectures.

  • Experience in architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions for

enterprise customers.

  • Must have hands-on experience in provisioning and/or architecting full scale

development / test / staging / production environments at Amazon Web

Services, Rackspace, Azure, IBM Softlayer or any other public cloud services


Estimating cloud usage

costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms.

o Experience with database specifically Oracle Database 11gR2 ad

above would be a very big advantage.

  • Enterprise and Web applications architecture knowledge would be an added


  • Experience in using cloud automation tools like Chef, Puppet etc is

10 years design/implementation/consulting experience of

large-scale, distributed applications

Atleast 3 years of relevant sales consulting and architecture experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Ability to engage in conversations with CxOs.

Technical degree required; Computer Science, Engineering or


Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly


  • Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS or other

public cloud.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
