Model Analyst, Model Specialist Team Noida, India
The Model Specialist team is part of the Models & Data business unit, and is responsible for supporting both RMS clients and colleagues across the globe in their successful usage and understanding of the full suite of RMS catastrophe models and associated data products.
Key responsibilities of the Model Analyst include:
Problem solving to develop solutions to interesting and challenging client inquiries
Analysing data, interpreting results and delivering key findings in model-related project work both internally and for clients
Providing training presentations to both clients and colleagues on catastrophe models
With these responsibilities in mind, the role of the Model Analyst is dynamic and varied, and requires:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex topics to colleagues and clients
Strong team ethic and a determination to work effectively as part of a larger local and global team
Ability to work independently and to make progress on tasks proactively and without close supervision

Confidence to present
Ability to learn, understand and explain complex model related scientific and mathematical topics
The multi-year learning curve comprises classroom training and frequent interactions with different teams and functions within the company. The development path continues with the experience gained through ongoing and multi-faceted client support work and internal projects. In particular, the Model Analyst will be involved in:
Providing direct point of contact client support on the full range of model-related questions and requests
Building and delivering client training sessions
Internal model change management projects
Delivering change impact reports on client portfolios and other client related model acceptance and validation work
Internal education initiatives both within the Model Specialist team and across other Models & Data and client facing teams
Onboarding and educating new team members
Product functional and use case testing and feedback provision
Reviewing model related documentation published on client portal
Once a Model Analyst has mastered the domain knowledge of RMS products and services, they will have the opportunity to further specialize and grow as a member of the Models & Data group according to their skills and interests.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Possess a BS/MS/PhD or equivalent degree in one of the following disciplines or a related field:
Earth Sciences (Geology, Geophysics, Seismology etc.)
Climate Sciences (Meteorology, Hydrology, Oceanography)
Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering
Ability to demonstrate:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
Superior problem-solving aptitude
Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies
Excellent training skills - ability to teach complex concepts in a clear and effective manner
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with data mining tools (SQL) to process databases, mapping software such as ArcGIS or QGIS, and a coding language (preferably R).
